The Project

July 27, 2009

Hey Folks!

Alright, I think the media and reality has pretty much  made it clear that America is FAT FAT FAT! Let's be honest it's pretty dang obvious especially when thirty-million Americans are suffering from an excess of body fat. I unfortunately, and most of my family, have fallen victim to this so called "rampant disease". I personally have struggled with being overweight since I was in the third grade. I am a little bit tired of it, especially when i live in the plastic capital of the world (Socal) so I propose a little bit of a science experiment . . .

Typically: As a high school student focused on getting into the college of my dreams, taking care of my body has sort of fallen by the wayside. My diet usually includes In-N-Out burgers, fries, chipotle burritos, chocolate-chip cookies, chinese food, mexican food, fruit roll-ups, pretzels, dark chocolate oh and BREAD lots and lots of BREAD. Oh, and I hardly ever move. I probably watch at least 30 hours of t.v. Monday thru Friday and only the good Lord above knows how much I watch on the weekends. So as you can imagine, its time for a change, and I mean a drastic one.

The Project: For thirty days I will eat nothing but salads. The salads will contain; romaine iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and the dressing of choice (Kraft's Fat Free Zesty Italian Dressing, a wopping  15 calories for two tablespoons). Every day, I will record how I am feeling, emotionally, physically, spiritually as well as any other way a person can feel. I will also try to exercise on a regular basis of three times a week.

Okay, let's get started.
